This weekend I made yogurt

We were suppose to go camping this weekend but the weather was so cold (still) we stayed home. I decided to make yogurt. I cannot believe how easy. Basically you sterilize all utensils heat milk to 185 add yogurt starter and keep mix warm ( I used a heating pad) and covered for 8 hours. Yes then it is yogurt. Next time I am making Greek yogurt it is thicker and creamier but not harder to make. Next week when I get my supplies I am making cheddar cheese. I knew I should have been a farmer.

Yesterday and today

Well we got snow this morning. We almost uncovered our garden as we have had weather in the 70s all week. BUT last year we did that and got a cold snap in May so this year we decided to wait until June to uncover the garden glad we did

Is Spring really here???

I think Spring may  finally be here, flowers and our Dogwood blooming, the lawn being mowed and after this weekend the plastic will come off the garden.  The locals say do not plant until after Mother's Day (which we did last year and lost everything to frost), so this year we planted before Mother's Day but had plastic on to protect it.

Wonderful up here in Foresthill this is our view when we go to the store
